Pearl District — Northwest
In the early part of the 20th century, this area was dedicated to industry and commerce. In the last few decades, the original warehouses have been converted into art galleries, trendy restaurants, brewpubs, hip shops and boutiques.
Downtown
Adorned with public art and fountains, this vibrant area is pedestrian-friendly and a center for shopping and business. Pioneer Courthouse Square is a focal point for the area, which features a mix of department stores.
Hawthorne District — Southeast
A diverse and inclusive neighborhood, Hawthorn is the kind of place a lot of people envision when they think of Portland. There is definitely a hippy, alternative, gay-friendly ethos in the area.
Washington Square Mall
Including four department stores, with one being the state's largest Nordstrom, Washington Square Mall draws patrons with its wealth of shopping opportunities and diverse merchandise.
Bridgeport Village
Bridgeport Village is a lovely, sprawling outdoor mall that features a mix of local shops and nationwide retailers.
